Here is a speed drawing of Kobe Bryant I made with colored pencils. After hearing about the tragic helicopter accident in 2020 that cost the lives of not only Kobe, but his daughter, Gigi, as well as seven other passengers aboard, I felt inspired to create this drawing in memory of him. Kobe was an inspiration and will always be remembered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. The drawing took several months to finish. How I created my longest portrait drawing - my colored pencil drawing of Alexa. I recorded my drawing process from start to finish, showing how I created my most time-consuming drawing so far. This was a commissioned drawing of an adorable little girl, Alexa, that I had the honor to draw last year for her family. For every minute you watch of the video, 10 hours go by. I placed timestamps throughout the video, showing how much time had lapsed at various points throughout the drawing process. My first time-lapse video I ever recorded drawing a sea turtle with colored pencils. This is currently the longest drawing I have made so far- compressing 48 hours of footage into a 3.5 minute time-lapse video. I made the drawing when I was 16 and took an entire summer for me to complete the drawing. I have always loved sea turtles and wanted to challenge myself with a drawing that captured intricate details and reflections of the turtle in the water. The drawing was later used as part of my senior AP portfolio my senior year in high school. The drawing was also displayed in several galleries and was awarded a Gold Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This is my favorite colored pencil drawing I have created so far.
